This year, COERR has continued to equip the young refugees with skills in Basic Organic Agriculture, so as to understand about organic farming and food security principle. The class was organized to help them to start making bio-fertilizer to add nutrients that enable plants to grow healthy, and become less dependent on using pesticide.
  The young refugee farmers’ class was held in Ban Mae Surin camp, Khun Yuam District, on March 22 for 70 young refugees, consisting of 48 young women and girls and 22 young men and boys; and in Ban Mai Nai Soi camp, on March 24, 2017, for 80 refugees, consisting of 42 young women and girls and 38 young men and boys.
In Ban Mae Surin camp, young refugees are preparing raw materials for bio-fertilizer making, such as vegetable peels, fruit peels, banana suckers, etc.
Young Farmers are preparing soil to be fertile prior to cultivation.
In Ban Mai Nai Soi camp, 80 young refugees are attending the Young Farmers’ Class on March 24, 2017.
